Expecting 5 star, didn't experience it

Spent five days in DC, decided to splurge on a five star hotel in a good location. The Sofitel was not bad, but not worthy of fives stars. Shower was too small, cleaning was on demand only by placing the hanger on the door (instead of automatic with no DND hanger), maintenance was called on a non-working outlet that was never addressed, and service was in some cases below average, especially for five stars. I would not stay there again.

The hotel and the restaurant are excellent and the location is perfect. The White House is just across the street. It's close to several great places to eat.

First time to stay at Sofitel in D.C. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of all things Federal Government. Also makes it easy to see the sites from this base of operations!

Elegant boutique hotel. Amazing service. Our room was amazing. Very large for a regular king room. Beautiful bathroom. Comfortable. The service is impeccable. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

I adored this French boutique hotel bc they have the perfect ambiance. Beautifully adorned with parisian decor and historic charm, it’s the perfect place to relax & indulge. Soft warm lighting, the cutest cast iron bathtub, Balmain body products, plush white robe, room service, and a Bose alarm clock stereo. 🧖🏻‍♀️ Located in Lafayette Square….close to The White House & The Lincoln Memorial.
